Volunteer Opportunities

Want to help at The Center? If you have a heart to serve, we need you!

WE NEED A VOLUNTEER TO COME EARLY AND COOK SAUSAGES AND

PANCAKES ON 2ND SATURDAY!

We also always need volunteers to play games with the kids!

Other Opportunities include (but are not limited to):

• Volunteers to help with homework and tutoring: Tuesday through Friday from 12-3pm during summer, 3-6pm during school (any time in that range; it does NOT have to be the entire 3 hours!).

• We’d love to start a mentoring program where people may commit one hour weekly to spend time with the kids.  

• Skill workshops: We currently have someone coming in to teach the kids to sew. If someone was passionate about gardening, personal finance, woodworking, etc. (These could be weekly, twice weekly, or biweekly based on availability and could be long term or for a defined period).

• Reading buddies: read one one-on-one with a student.

• Volunteer to help with serving snacks any day, Tuesday-Friday (could be once a week, once a month, or one time). This is a great way to get to know the kids. Especially Fridays serving snack and during the summer prepping lunch.

• Volunteer to bag and pass out fresh fruits and veggies the first Friday of every month from 8:45 am to 11:30 am

• Volunteer to pick up Bagels from Noah’s Bagels (any day of the week @ 1:55-they donate the day-old bagels)

• Volunteers to cook lunch for the kids during the summer or donate meals for 30 kids

• The Second Saturday of every month we host a neighborhood event with Bread of Life. We serve a hot meal and pass out food boxes. We need a minimum of 15 volunteers for this event!
